ABOUT YOUNG FIVES
We have a classroom designated and designed for the oldest children who will attend Kindergarten in Fall 2014. This class is comprised of Young Fives (those children old enough to attend Kindergarten whose parents have decided to allow an extra year of growth at the preschool level) and the oldest four year olds.
Our goal is to help children become enthusiastic learners and to enjoy the time they spend at school. We encourage them to be active and creative explorers who are eager to try new ideas and to think and express their own thoughts. We have a planned curriculum that identifies individual developmental needs in the following areas: social, emotional, cognitive, and physical. We allow them to learn at their own pace and provide stimulating materials that are appropriate for their stage of development. We help the children develop good work habits and a positive attitude toward school.
The activities we plan for preschoolers, the way we organize the environment, select toys and materials, plan the daily schedule, and talk with children are all designed to accomplish the goals of our curriculum and give your child a successful start in school.
